Operations
The Sierra Western utilizes CTC80 Command Control, and is operated under timetable and train order authority. Car cards and waybills are used for car movements. The current timetable is available by clicking the link below. The operating positions on the railroad are listed and described by clicking on that link below. For yard assignments, clicking on the yard name will open a diagram of the yard. Positions are connected by telephone. Time is measured by fast clock.
Normally, all operating positions are solo. Unless doubled up for instructional reasons, we operate with "one man crews". Visitors, if you would like to work with a partner, please advise the crew caller so adjustments can be made.
