North Cimarron Operations

North Cimarron is the terminus of the Milwaukee Road's Elk River Sub-division. Situated just north of Cimarron all of the Milwaukee’s interchanged traffic flows through this yard. There are two scheduled passenger and four scheduled freight trains per day on this line. A resident switcher is stationed here and is responsible for all freight and passenger/mail switching. The switch crew handles local traffic, freight classification and interchange runs in consort with the Sierra Western Cimarron switch crews.

The North Cimarron Crew is the defacto dispatcher for the sub-division and trains operating on the Milwaukee line are under his direction.
